ALL ABOUT SUDAN
Physical Features-Sudan is a the largest country in Africa and has 9 bordering countries. Sudan also contains the basin of the Senegal and parts of three other hydrgraphic systems,namely:the Niger,draining southwards to the Atlantic;the central depression of lake Chad:and the Nile flowing northwards to the Mediterranean.
Current Events-Planes and Sudanese soldiers and the Militia known as the Janjaweed ('evil horsemen' in Arabic ) on camels and horses attacked the people of Darfur.The planes dropped bombs on the people of Darfur and one million have died already.
The Capitol-Khartoum
The Population-40,218,456 people as of July 2008
The Main Language-Arabic and English
Main Religion-Sunni Muslim
A popular food dish is tamayya- a green hamburger
A popular sport is football
The life expectancy for males is 49.38 years and the life expectancy for females is 51.23 years.
The literacy rate in males is71.8% and 50.5% in females.
The natural resources of Sudan include:petroleum, iron ore, copper, zinc, tungsten, mica, silver, gold, hydropower and chromium ore.
The climate in Sudan is tropical in the south, while it is aris in the north.
The current leader is Umar-Hassan Ahmod al-BASHIR.
